i have contact lenses the help me see far. and i have 1.5 and 3.0 readers
th I have to switch out so i can read text or work on super small things at work

Gives me headaches.

I wore contacts for most of my life. Have really got out of the habit the last year or two. I have found it is easier to take my glasses off to
read things that are up close vs. wearing the contacts and putting
cheaters on and off. As you mentioned headaches, I find I get fewer of
them that way, too.

i eventually got glasses a few years ago and i wear them to give my eyes a rest. i do wish i got on contact lenses sooner because they would have stopped my eyes from getting so bad. i heard they stop the changing of the eye's shape That leads to failing eyesight..

This is pretty much my reasoning as well. My mother did the same as
your's, but for slightly different reasons. She always wore glasses and
after she had her eyes fixed with lasers and didn't need them my nephew

That leads to failing eyesight..

I started wearing them in high school. I got to where contacts were able
to correct one eye to 20/20 (expected) and the other to 20/15 or better
(better than expected). The Dr said that was supposedly due to the eye
shape thing.

Once I got into my 40s and started having the age-related close-distance
vision issues, that didn't seem to be as much of an advantage any more.

Yeah, back in the 1980s there used to be a popular board where I lived that
was an apple ii board. I don't remember what software it ran, but it was
very, very different than all of the GT Power, WWIV, PC Board, or Commodore boards that were around then.
